Gatwick Airport – Automated PA System

Gatwick Airport (LGW), also known as London Gatwick, is London’s second largest international airport and second busiest by total passenger traffic in the United Kingdom after Heathrow. They were in need of a modern, automated PA system to cope with the ever-increasing demands of the airport.

 


Westminster Abbey and St. Georges Chapel

Whitwam of Winchester are a specialist AV company who are a chosen supplier of many historical sites. One such site, Westminster Abbey, required an update to the existing audio infrastructure to allow microphone switching.

 


Toyota

Toyota Manufacturing UK is the United Kingdom manufacturing operation of Toyota, established in December 1989. The vehicle manufacturing plant at Burnaston, Derbyshire, assembles cars. Toyota needed a system to inform workers of what actions the production line is taking e.g. start, stop, Kanban (just-in-time). They wanted to use music (segments) as markers.

 


Utilitywise

Utilitywise is a utility management company based in the UK. They were looking to develop a multichanneled smart meter to help businesses customers understand their energy consumption better.

 


Sofitel – London Gatwick

Sofitel is an established luxury hotel uniquely located within Gatwick Airport, directly linked to the North Terminal and minutes away from the South Terminal by Monorail. They were looking for an audio system to automate PAs and play music onsite.

 


Birmingham Airport

Birmingham Airport is a key transport hub in the UK, handling over 10 million passengers a year. They were looking for a flexible automated PA system that supported multiple languages.

 


British Museum

More than six million people pass through the doors of the British Museum every year. As London’s premier museum, the British Museum needed a modern and intuitive touchscreen PA system.

 


Customer Led Network Revolution

The Customer Led Network Revolution was a project funded by Ofgem to research and trial projects with the aim to kickstart the changes needed for a low carbon future in the UK. British Gas, as a primary partner in the project, required multi-channel energy monitors.

 


Gatwick Airport – ‘Premium Lane’ Sound System

Gatwick required a High Quality system to play music for the opening ceremony of a ‘Premium Lane’ system, and for the customers following the opening. We were asked to provide and commission a Hi fidelity music system in the Premium lane check-in at ST Gatwick ready for the official opening by Sir Richard Branson.

 


Hampshire Fire and Rescue

Hampshire Fire and Rescue Authority, the statutory fire and rescue service for the county of Hampshire, formed in April 1997. They required a touchscreen system to control all video, radio, telephone and PA systems in their ICU.

 


Manchester Airport

As part of a £7 million project, Manchester Airport wanted to develop a ground transport interchange that enables seamless travel into the heart of the airport by bus, coach, train and tram. They required a sophisticated interactive passenger-information system, with accessibility to all people.

 


Royal Green Jackets Museum

Situated adjacent to Winchester’s Great Hall and within easy walking distance of the City centre, The Royal Green Jackets (Rifles) Museum records the history of three of the finest and most famous regiments in the British Army. They required a touch screen system for a museum exhibit
