Birmingham Airport

“The recordings… sound as if they are being spoken by a live person.”

Wayne Smith – Systems Manager at Birmingham International Airport

CLIENT PROFILE

Birmingham Airport (formerly Birmingham International Airport)

THE SOLUTION

The installation of the automated PA system began in 2001 and was implemented in a matter of months. The flexible system allowed the staff to control message priority, the transmitting zones, the timing of messages and the structure of messages sent. Additionally, a web-interface allows the staff to monitor all calls made and trigger calls as required.

Since the installation of the system, the Terminal Control staff have been released from PA calls, allowing them to move their focus elsewhere. With announcements made in 7 languages across the airport, the automated PA system strengthens Birmingham Airport’s position as a leading international airport.
